  The Cockscomb and Yellow Rock

  Coyote Gulch


A wonderful journey through The Cockscomb, an erosional ridge along a monocline in the Grand Staircase, will yield grand views, remote backcountry, and tremendous photography opportunities with its myriad of colors, shapes, and grand vistas.  Yellow Rock, a feature of the Cockscomb, is a brightly colored area that is truly a unique and special geologic treasure in this wild area

  San Rafael Swell Country

  Paria Canyon & Buckskin Gulch


Also known as "The Little Grand Canyon", the San Rafael Swell near Capitol Reef is utterly spectacular.  Holding some of the most important geologic secrets on the entire Colorado Plateau, this wonderul area shows us some of the key components of the forces that built the Rocky Mountains, carved Arizona's Grand Canyon, and gouged out the slots of Utah, all draped in the gorgeous scenery known the world over.

The Paria Canyon and its tributary The Buckskin Gulch is quite possibly the finest canyon hike on the planet.  Surrounded by sheer, humbling 1000ft walls of beautifully cross-bedded Navajo Sandstone, Paria Canyon and its Paria River, is a main tributary to the mighty Colorado.  The Buckskin Gulch is regarded as the longest, deepest slot canyon not only in Utah, not only on the Colorado Plateau, not only in the United States, but in the world.  This adventure's grandeur is dwarfed only by its spectacle.

  Sundance to Dark Canyon


One of the most spectacular and interesting spots in all of Utah is, lucky for you, one of the least known (or visited).  The Box-Death Hollows Wilderness, outside of the Grand Staircase and Bryce Canyon, often is passed over for its more popular and famous neighbors.  Not by us, and not by you.  We kid you not, this just might be the most rockin' trip we offer.

The Dark Canyon Complex and its wilderness is some of the most remote, spectacular, unspoiled, and rugged canyon country not only in Utah, but in North America.  Our hiking adventure down the Sundance Trail into the dpeths of Dark Canyon is puncutuated by fabulous geology, outstanding solitude, and a rewarding challenge.  This is truly some of the last untouched wilderness in the Utah.
