Tanner Trail to Redwall Overlook
The Tanner Trail: A Fault Never Rests
The Tanner Trail, perhaps the most adventurous and remote trail from the South Rim, lends an excellent look at one of the eastern Grand Canyon's most important structural features, the Butte Fault.  This fault is mostly responsible for Tanner Canyon, that the trail follows, and the sweeping views, monoclines, and hydrothermal activity that we will observe on the way down to the stunningly spectacular overlook atop the Redwall Limestone.
